Agape - noun, Greek for compassionate love arising from a keen sense of another person's value and worth: "Love one another... carry one another's burdens... encourage one another and build each other up."

Agape is a Christian counseling center, but even more, it is really a heartfelt response by many counselors and Board members, over almost 30 years, to meet the need for faith-based counseling in the greater Rochester area, and also the need to support pastors and train laymen to serve more effectively in helping relationships in the family, the church, and community. For the over 16,000 people who have been served by Agape counselors, Agape is a refuge, a place of Hope, and Healing.

At Agape Counseling Associates, our staff is committed to providing services that help people enrich their lives through effective and compassionate counseling, education and support. Our services include individual, marriage and family counseling; group therapy; pre-marital preparation; classes and seminars.

All of our staff members have a personal relationship with Christ and integrate biblical principles into a proven professional counseling methods. This blending of professional competency with a faith-based perspective enables each highly-trained Agape counselor to help people cope with and overcome issues through access to their deepst understanding and richest meaning.

What are Agape's fees?

Our fees are determined by a sliding scale and are based on a total family income and number of dependents. We are a non-profit and tax-exempt corporation.
